Job Description

As a Software Engineer at HP, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development and operations throughout the software development lifecycle. You’ll be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, tools, and processes that enable efficient and reliable software delivery. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in DevOps architecture and contribute to the automation of software and cloud modules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the design, implementation, and management of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible to create reproducible and scalable environments.
• Learning to develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
• Assisting in deploying automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Helping in the coordination and execution of software releases, managing versioning using Git, and facilitating rollback plans when necessary.
• Assisting in the investigation, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of production issues reported by monitoring systems and customers.
• Learning the organization’s continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) process using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Observing DevOps principles by senior engineers on the team and contributing to a culture of automation and collaboration.
• Creating and maintaining documentation for infrastructure, processes, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and facilitate onboarding.
• Identifying opportunities for automation and suggesting implementation of scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks, reducing manual interventions and improving efficiency.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and software engineering to continuously improve the DevOps process and contribute to the evolution of the development infrastructure.

Education & Experience

• A four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is recommended. Equivalent work experience or demonstrated competence will also be considered.
• Typically, 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in software development, information technology, or a related engineering environment.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer is a plus.
