Job Description: Dive into Systems Development
As a Software Engineer Intern at IBM India Systems Development Lab (IBM ISDL), you’ll be immersed in all phases of product development. This includes design, development, testing, and support, focusing on core systems technologies like Operating Systems, Firmware, Systems Software, Storage Software, and Cloud Software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop IBM Systems products, collaborating with development and product management teams globally.
- Analyze product requirements, design solutions, implement code, and conduct thorough testing across the entire product development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the validation and support of IBM Systems products.

Required Skills and Expertise
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong expertise in Systems Software Programming Skills (C, C++, Java, Python, GoLang, ReactJS, Groovy).
- Solid understanding of Operating Systems Concepts (Unix/Linux internals), data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with Virtualization and Cloud Computing technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Microservices Architecture, Kubernetes/Dockers.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of OpenStack, Security, App Dev on Cloud Platform, DevOps.
- Experience with Web UI Frameworks: Vaadin, React JS, and UI styling libraries like Bootstrap/Material.
- Knowledge of J2EE, JSP, RESTful web services, and GraphQL API.
- Practical experience with Java, Javascript, Ansible, Databases, SQL, Node JS, etc.
- Good understanding of AI/ML concepts, Data Science, NLP, and modern tools for deriving meaningful insights.
