Responsibilities of an Associate Software Engineer
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to data pipeline development, infrastructure building, and data support. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of the GroundTruth platform.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Creating and maintaining data pipelines for the GroundTruth platform.
- Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, including Product, Analytics, and Client Services teams, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Preparing detailed specifications and low-level designs.
- Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
- Testing the product in controlled, real-world situations before deployment.
- Maintaining the application after it goes live, addressing any issues or bugs that arise.
- Contributing innovative ideas to improve the location platform and its capabilities.
Example Tasks:
- Designing a new data pipeline to ingest data from a new source.
- Optimizing an existing data pipeline to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Troubleshooting data quality issues and implementing solutions.
- Developing new features for the GroundTruth platform.
Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in computer science principles, data engineering concepts, and relevant technologies. The following skills and experience are essential:
Essential Qualifications:
- Tech./B.E./M.Tech./MCA or equivalent degree in computer science.
- 0-3 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Experience with the AWS Stack used for Data engineering: EC2, S3, Athena, Redshift, EMR, ECS, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Experience in Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Spark, Glue.
- Hands-on experience with Python for orchestration of data pipelines and Data engineering tasks.
- Experience in writing analytical queries using SQL.
- Experience with Airflow for workflow management.
- Experience with Docker for containerization.
- Proficient in Git for version control.
