Responsibilities of an Associate Software Engineer

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to data pipeline development, infrastructure building, and data support. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of the GroundTruth platform.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Creating and maintaining data pipelines for the GroundTruth platform.
• Building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
• Collaborating with stakeholders, including Product, Analytics, and Client Services teams, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Preparing detailed specifications and low-level designs.
• Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
• Testing the product in controlled, real-world situations before deployment.
• Maintaining the application after it goes live, addressing any issues or bugs that arise.
• Contributing innovative ideas to improve the location platform and its capabilities.

Example Tasks:

1. Designing a new data pipeline to ingest data from a new source.
2. Optimizing an existing data pipeline to improve performance and reduce costs.
3. Troubleshooting data quality issues and implementing solutions.
4. Developing new features for the GroundTruth platform.

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in computer science principles, data engineering concepts, and relevant technologies. The following skills and experience are essential:

Essential Qualifications:

• Tech./B.E./M.Tech./MCA or equivalent degree in computer science.
• 0-3 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Experience with the AWS Stack used for Data engineering: EC2, S3, Athena, Redshift, EMR, ECS, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Experience in Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Spark, Glue.
• Hands-on experience with Python for orchestration of data pipelines and Data engineering tasks.
• Experience in writing analytical queries using SQL.
• Experience with Airflow for workflow management.
• Experience with Docker for containerization.
• Proficient in Git for version control.
