Job Description
As an Associate Engineer, you will play a crucial role in handling engineering services activities. This involves close collaboration with the Cloud development, Product Management, and Customer Service teams to investigate and resolve issues related to various software and cloud devices. The ideal candidate will possess strong debugging skills and some exposure to software development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Identify, analyze, and resolve critical incidents promptly.
- Driving Bridge Calls: Lead bridge calls for critical incidents, coordinating with cross-functional teams to reach a resolution.
- Automation and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Service Request Handling: Manage service requests from various teams, adhering to stringent SLAs.
- Production Support: Independently handle the production support of multiple cloud software applications.
- Firmware Upgrades: Build and maintain a scalable upgrade infrastructure for firmware upgrades.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from a reputable engineering college.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in a highly technical product company.
- Proven experience in incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and driving bridge calls.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Solid scripting skills in languages such as Ruby, Shell scripts, or Python.
- Experience with database queries (PL/SQL) in databases like MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Incorta or Quicksight.
- Good understanding of AWS cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Java or Ruby on Rails.
- Ability to work under stringent SLAs and meet commitments.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with tools like Git/BitBucket, Jira, and Confluence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
