Job Description
The Junior Engineer role is designed for individuals starting their engineering careers. You will be involved in specific, defined tasks, supported by experienced engineers to facilitate your growth and knowledge acquisition. You will be expected to understand departmental strategies, practices, toolkits, and processes.
Professional Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the implementation of software development processes, standards, and best practices to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality software products. Adhere to the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Strive for individual engineering excellence by utilizing analysis tools, control gates, and peer reviews to improve design, productivity, and quality.
- Demonstrate interest in evaluating emerging technologies, models, and methods to enhance competitive differentiation and strengthen existing product technology. Participate in the adoption of these within your team.
- Contribute to the optimization of the engineering lifecycle through systematic knowledge management and continuous learning to better meet market and client needs.
- Participate in reviews to incorporate new ways of thinking that improve design and quality, leading to higher engineering productivity.
- Escalate, document, and manage issues related to product design, feature set, and functionality to ensure delivery goals are met according to defined plans.
Technical Responsibilities
- Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor simple programs/scripts.
- Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered results.
- Review your own work for quality and accuracy.
Education and Experience
- Any technical graduation; engineering, computer science, etc.
- Preferred: Post-graduation in advanced computer science subjects and MBA in Systems.
- Understanding of engineering development for a Product SaaS organization.
