Job Description: Associate Software Engineer
As an Associate Software Engineer at Firstsource, you will be responsible for developing capabilities required to build robust software systems. You will work with various software and cloud technologies, contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle. A strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in software programming and databases are essential for this role. Exposure to AI/ML and Data Science will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and build software applications/systems based on design documents across front-end (web/windows), back-end (.net/java/python), and database systems.
- Implement best practices in design, coding, automated unit testing, regression testing, and software deployment to production environments.
- Participate effectively in agile-at-scale frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Provide clear and concise status updates and plans to project leadership.
- Continuously learn and acquire certifications in new technologies as required by the project.
- Leverage any prior experience or exposure to AI, ML, and Data Science to enhance project outcomes.
Supervision
You will report to a Project Manager or Technical Lead (or equivalent) and receive general supervision. This structure allows for guidance while encouraging independent contribution and problem-solving.
Required Skills for Success
To excel in this role, the following skills are crucial:
- Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java/.Net/Python/NodeJS.
- Solid understanding of JavaScript.
- Experience with at least one of ASP.Net/Angular/ReactJS.
- Familiarity with RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server/Postgre).
- Strong knowledge of SQL.
- Understanding of DevOps practices (e.g., Azure DevOps) and cloud PaaS.
