Job Description

As a Trainee Engineer at GE HealthCare, you will design, develop, and test embedded software and firmware for X-ray generators. You will also help develop software tools for the Imaging Sub Systems group. This role gives you a chance to work on new technology and gain practical experience in the medical device industry. Your work will include collaborating with experienced engineers, taking part in software development activities, and helping improve software quality. As a Trainee Engineer, you will be

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and testing embedded software and firmware for X-ray generators.
  • Developing software tools for engineers in the Imaging Sub Systems group.
  • Working with teams to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Participating in software development activities, including gathering requirements, designing, implementing, testing, and deploying.
  • Helping to improve software development processes.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing software defects. Creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C and C++.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems, preferably VxWorks.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as ClearCase or Git.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile development methods.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Basic understanding of digital schematics, including MCU and DSP.
  • Experience in developing drivers for ADC, RTC, and similar components.
  • Hands-on experience in creating software and firmware for SoC devices, including Xilinx and Intel.
  • Experience in software and firmware development in the power or control domain.
