As an apprentice at State Street Off Campus, you will work on different areas of software development and IT operations. Your tasks will include:
Responsibilities
- Reviewing business and technical requirement documents helps understand project needs. Contributing to application design, development, testing, and deployment phases is essential.
- Joining agile team meetings, including stand-up calls and retrospectives, ensures smooth collaboration and progress.
- Preparing technical documentation is necessary for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process we follow.
- Working with different internal teams at State Street helps achieve project goals.
- Gaining hands-on experience in cloud computing, DevOps, monitoring tools, and site reliability engineering is valuable.
Skills
To be eligible for the State Street Apprentice Program, candidates should have the following qualifications and skills:
- A B.Tech, M.Tech, or MCA degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Working knowledge of GUI development using Java, along with experience in databases to create an end-to-end solution, is desirable.
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle and common software development practices, such as code reviews and unit testing, is important.
- A solid grasp of SQL performance tuning techniques, including understanding and managing query plans, SQL tracing, database statistics, and indexing techniques, is highly preferred.
- Candidates should be able to efficiently manage and resolve problems in a live production system.
