Job Description
As a Software Engineer at Visa, you will be a vital member of the development team, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions. You should be comfortable articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
This role is based in Bangalore and reports to the Director of Product Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the technical design of solutions based on use cases and business requirements.
- Develop and execute proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations of technologies, designs, and solutions.
- Contribute to the creation of detailed design and use case documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to resolve complex technical challenges related to high-profile business opportunities.
- Analyze existing solution architecture and design, proposing enhancements to improve business value, optimize performance, and enhance quality.
- Adhere to and contribute to best practices, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
- Communicate and present intricate technical concepts to peers.
- Ensure alignment with Visa’s business vision, current business environment (both internal and external), and technology and industry trends to drive impactful results.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, OR 6 months – 2 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 Months – 2 years of work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design principles, including common design patterns and adherence to SOLID principles.
- Familiarity with test-driven development methodologies.
- Creative, high-energy, proactive problem-solving skills with a strong sense of urgency.
- Customer-centric approach with a focus on user experience.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional project teams, including solution analysts, QA engineers, and architects, to deliver business value.
- Proficiency in estimating effort for changes and new projects using a combination of model-based approaches and practical experience.
